PAINTING

My painting practice focuses on the daily struggles faced by individuals who have experienced life in a female body. It highlights the societal pressures to remain subdued, agreeable, and obedient. I commonly reference renaissance art, as the male artists were masters at romanticizing women's pain and trauma, by using mythological stories to achieve this. Through a modern feminist lens I reimagine these myths, attempting to achieve some justice for the women in these stories, even if it is just through my eyes.
